President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Danish Khan has emphasized the need for comprehensive reforms in garbage management and sewerage system of Karachi. Applauding initiatives taken by the chief secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah for the betterment of cleanliness in Karachi, he expressed hoped that after this directive, situation in Karachi will improve.

He appreciated linking payment and contract of private firms to their performance. Danish Khan said that we welcome the strict action taken by the chief secretary Sindh against irresponsible behavior of a garbage lifting company. He cited that last month the chief secretary took notice of terrible situation of garbage in Karachi and ordered Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) to scrap contract of a company which failed to fulfil responsibilities regarding garbage collection and dumping. Danish Khan urged that there is a need for comprehensive reforms in garbage management and sewerage system of Karachi.
